Family Planning Services Program

Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria - APHFTA is a sub-recipient of Global Fund for HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria Round Four since 2005, and has been carefully utilizing the funds in training and support of the private health facilities in Tanzania on HIV and AIDS care and treatment, Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT), Prevention of Maternal to Child Transmission (PMTCT) and Home Based Care for people living with HIV/AIDS.

To date more than 350 health care providers from 50 healthcare facilities have been trained and supported by the association on the above mentioned components and are included in the National HIV and AIDS Care and Treatment Program. More than 75,000 people have benefited from these facilities in the last 4 years. Due to this success, APHFTA will continue to support the private health sector in TB and HIV care and treatment services in Global Fund round 8, beginning 2009 to 2014.
