HIV/AIDS Program

Private Health Sector HIV/AIDS and Tuberculosis Program

APHFTA has been Implementing HIV/AIDS program for the Private Health Sector since 2005 through the support of the Global Fund for AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Rounds FOUR and EIGHT. Currently 51 private health care facilities in 17 regions of mainland Tanzania are enrolled in the program and are supported through Training of the facility healthcare providers, nutrition supplementation for the patients, and procurement of essential equipment. APHFTA also links the facilities to their respective district health administration, and advocates for service agreements in the delivery of the services through Public Private Partnership arrangements.

  • Voluntary Counseling and Testing
  • Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT)
  • Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP)
  • Antiretroviral Treatment
  • Home Based Care
  • Nutritional Supplements

    TUBERCULOSIS PROGRAM

    Since 2006, APHFTA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Program for Appropriate Technology for Health (PATH) to work together in the strengthening the private health sector capacity in the delivery of TB services through the National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) I designated regions were PATH operates in Tanzania. APHFTA has also, through the Global fund trained and supported 40 private health facilities on TB/HIV collaborative services.

    Below are various pictures taken during HIV /AIDS Training conducted at Mbeya from 9th February 2012 to 16th February 2012. The training was about ART use and monitoring.
